I am so glad we had saved this experience for a special occasion. Kasey surprised me with reservations for my birthday this week, and I think Chef Kurt has been there long enough that he's already started to impact the experience. We got there about 20 minutes before our reservation and started with cocktails and a view. Kasey's Manhattan and my Saint Germain cocktail were both perfect, and getting to enjoy the view is a big part of going to Vast. For a starter we shared the beet salad and the lobster ravioli. Absolutely delicious, and a small starter is about all the lobster I ever want since it is so rich. For dinner, I had the Native-Amber brined chicken breast, which was better than any non-fried chicken I've ever had, but also it may have been a little bit pan fried since the skin had a really wonderful crispness. Kasey had the pork with risotto, and it was absolutely amazing. I was glad he let me steal so many bites. We just had wine by the glass, which was fine, but we never even saw the bottle list. I was sort of surprised they don't bring that automatically. No problem, just maybe something that should be tweaked. Dessert was delicious: I had the strawberry shortcake and Kasey had the bananas foster, which was almost like a sopapilla with banana goodness on the inside. It was good enough that I hope you'll indulge me the critic inside, more about the experience than the food, just some things seem a little off-putting. I'm sure there are some finer points they are working on with staff. I keep hearing that there aren't enough properly trained servers in OKC, and I have to say, if they're not at Vast, I'm not sure where they are. Our server was perfectly fine, but not Vast caliber. Here are some irksome things: when describing specials, just say "The chicken is pan seared" instead of saying "The chicken is gonna be pan seared." The sauce is gonna be a reduction, the desert is gonna be a truffle... She probably said "gonna" about 20 times. They also probably need a little more standardization of server uniforms, hair, makeup, and jewelry (if jewelry is allowed at all.) I really feel freaked out every time you play with your watch while talking about food you're going to serve us. Finally, I wish they didn't all have to wear their badges prominently on their clothes - that's more like an airport restaurant than some of the finest dining in OKC. Props for the valet, which is a great (complimentary) set up: they must call down to the valet when they validate your parking, because our car was ready and waiting for us when we got down to the street level. Overall, I just can't wait to go back. Oh, and it wasn't much more than Rococo was when we went the week before for our anniversary, in case you're thinking it is going to be astronomically expensive.

Our group of 50 women from all over the country LOVED V2! Our steaks were perfect, and the gluten free desserts were awesome. Of course, the view from the 50th floor is incredible. There was more food than we could eat. Moira McCarthy was great to work with. I highly recommend this restaurant for group events!

I am a repeat customer but this is my first review of Vast. I made a few notes that I'd like to share. Service, which is front and center, was very good. From reservations, greetings, table, all were well drilled, efficient and pleasant. Ask for Duy (pronounced like Dewey), he's a great waiter with good manners and a charming personality. Food: The food is very good. It's reminiscent of Jules Verne in Paris. The view is a big attraction but the food is catching up. One standout is the charcuterie plate. The duck is outstanding and well worth the money. The pastry chef is also talented. Although my favorite desert is the banana pudding, made in the Vast kitchen but served at Flint. Value: the wine menu is the first one I have seen that resembles actual, real prices. Very good value here. The selection is broad and there are some really nice wines available. The menu is manageable, serviceable but expect premium prices and understand that before stepping on the elevator. Overall, I like Vast. It's 3.9 stars and increasing at an increasing rate. It's a fun, memorable place with some nice dishes and a very good wine list.

I have not eaten a full meal at Vast, but the Bar and their bar food menu is top notch. Wonderful selection and great quality.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience here. I expect to have a great experience when I'm spending around $175 on an anniversary dinner. 1. The appetizer and wine was great, zero complaints early on into our experience at Vast. 2. The waiter wouldn't stop trying to sell us the more expensive bottle of wine (I'm an IT guy and my girl is a teacher, we have a budget). 3. The waiter rang up our ticket wrong and charged us $54 extra. Once I told him about this mistake, he "offered" to fix it but warned me that it would take 2-3 business days to credit back to my account. He just stood there expecting me to be ok with everything and not request a refund and when I told him to refund and fix his mistake, he seemed very annoyed as if it was an inconvenience for HIM. He went back and returned it and then came back with the new correct ticket. I was still nice enough to tip him $20. ......days go by..... I still haven't received my refund AND I'm noticing on my bank statement that for the new ticket he gave me, he either added $20 EXTRA to his tip or rang something else up wrong that was $20 extra. Either way, there is a new charge on my card and it's $20 more than what my receipt showed. The waiter was from Italy and was nice and all at first but then we started noticing show shadiness when the ticket issue happened, suddenly, he was no longer himself and just seemed fishy about stuff. Mind blowing, I expect nothing but quality service when dining at a place like this. Am I wrong? 4. Like I said before, the wine and apps were great. The main entree however, was pretty bad. We ordered the "CRISPY CHICKEN BREAST & BRAISED "SHANK"" and the SEARED SALMON. Both tasted like something I could make at home, but worse. The chicken was really dry and boring. The salmon completely lacked in flavor and tasted like a Salmon I'd get from Chilis or Applebees. The dinner was a complete waste of money. 5. Service was insanely slow. The seating is really close to each other so it's kind of awkward to have a private conversation. Overall, wasn't a great experience and I really have no desire to go back there. Just my opinion based off of the experience we had.

When dining at a place like Vast, you just have to realize that half of what you're paying for is the view. If you adjust your expectations a bit then you won't be too disappointed with the food and the price. We came for dinner with another couple on a Saturday night. Reservations were for 8:15pm and we were seated around 8:30pm. The manager was very nice and apologized for the delay. Our waiter was a bit slow and left for extended periods of time even before we ordered our food. We all shared 2 appetizers: the frog legs special and the charcuterie board. No complaints on the charcuterie, but the frog legs were TINY. I mean, it was barely worth eating. It tasted okay, but for $14, I could have gotten something much better. I wish I had taken a picture of it! I had the halibut for my entree. The fish was seasoned and cooked well, but was served with about 5 tiny pieces of potatoes that left me wanting more. A had the NY strip, which was also well-seasoned. But again, the sides were very lacking. The mashed potatoes were obviously made out of a box. Very disappointing for a place like Vast. For dessert, we had the banana cheesecake and raspberry chocolate cake. The former was awesome, the latter just okay. Lastly, their drinks were good. The old fashion, margarita, and tequila mockingbird were all great. Next time, I'd probably just come for drinks and enjoy the view.

My girlfriend and I came here for my parents' 56th anniversary dinner. First off, Gaetano is an exceptional server -- very friendly and personable! Gaetano was the highlight of the outing to Vast. He and his manager accommodated us on special request that took several minutes of his time. Everyone agreed that the Crispy Chicken Roulade was incredible -- surpassing the aged steaks especially when you consider the steaks cost double. If you do go with a steak, the Filet won over the strips. The non-aged steak was very average. The Banana Cheesecake was toasted lightly (like a creme brulee) and again was the favorite of all 4 of us. Hopefully you get a chance to try the roulade and cheesecake before the seasonal menu changes. The Devon tower is impressively appointed with the materials and designs and worth the visit alone. Vast and the view is equally impressive. Thanks again Gaetano!

There are several elements to the dinning experience. Vast has nailed it. Ambience - how can you beat 50 floors above OKC. Service perfect. Food execution great. Wine list well thought . Great night

Amazing view of OKC. Here for business. Entire staff from hostesses to wait staff is attentive and service oriented. Helped with wine selection by offering "taste" selections. Very well rounded menu, fish-foul-veggies and beef. Something for everyone. Great presentation. Despite being in OKC, I ordered fish and it was delicious. Next time in OKC, I would come back and recommend to others

First the setting. We went for our anniversary. I feared the space would feel large and impersonal. Not so. The tables are tiered so that the room, though fairly big, feels intimate. We had a table next to the windows on a clear night. Yup. You can see forever. My next fear was that the food would not be up to par-- after all, you are paying for the view. I've been a longtime fan of Kurt Fleischfressher and should have had more faith. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. An amuse bouche of ceviche, followed by the quail stuffed with jasmine rice (doesn't get much better) and perfectly charred shrimp on a bed of creamy polenta. Mixed green goat cheese bouchon. We both tried different fish specials. I love to cook but never would have paired mahi mahi with a very very thin crust of tomato jam and an even thinner bacon slice or slicette on top. While I wondered if it would over power the fish, it didn't. Instead, the very light hand added texture and contrast. The summer succotash was just the texture needed to add some additional crunch. We thought we were going to share the raspberry chocolate cake for dessert. I could have bathed in the ganache. The surprise was we got to try a new dessert they were considering adding the menu. A pina colada cream taste of heaven. Our vote is in. Add it now. Service was also outstanding. So.. thumbs up. Stop worrying that this is just a place for tourists. If you really like food, it's for you.

This restaurant does well to compliment downtown OKC by offering a unique and accessible dining experience.. The view/ambiance + reasonable prices + quality food makes for a pleasant time without stress.. It's a good package deal friends.. Stay a little while and enjoy the view..

I have eaten here three times so I can now give a fair review....with emphasis on the word fair. The view and atmosphere are clearly nice. The food is average. Nothing special. I've ordered the lamb, I've ordered the ahi tuna and I've ordered the shrimp. I wouldn't call any of the dishes great. In fact, I've eaten nothing here that is great...off my plate or anyone else's. There is much better food in okc...for much better prices. Nothing special here. Sorry, Vast. I tried to like you.

Vast was simply awesome. The Red Snapper and grilled shrimp appetizer were some of our favorites. The service was impeccable, as was the view. A great, great, find in a surprising area. Make reservations though as space is limited.

First time dining at Vast last night. Special dinner with family. I readily admit not all of our party fit the "visual" expectations of their "usual" clientele ( or at least all the other diners we saw). Nonetheless our money spends just like everyone else's. It was apparent to us that we were being treated with less graciousness than the other guests EXCEPT by our server Stephanie. She was absolutely wonderful. She was the best- warm, friendly, great personality, etc. just a great person. She overlooked the visual and provided great service. Several people in our party also work in the hospitality industry and Stephanie got rave reviews from them also. Appetizers were excellent, presentation was great, spacing of courses good. The main entrees not so much. Steaks were chewy and over cooked. Fish was very dry as was crawfish rice. Drinks were also great. If not for Stephanie, this 400.00 tab and the attitude of other staff would have resulted in a 2 star rating. Vast staff.....don't judge your customers based on outward appearances...you never really know who your customers might be!!

Vast at the top of the Devon Tower......It was my child's 9th birthday so I made reservations for the three of us for 11am just as the restaurant opened on a Monday afternoon. My wife and I are not fans of buffets unless we eat just after they open and the food is hot. Even then, we are hard to convince. We arrived at the base of the tower at 1050, drove around the entire tower. No valet for lunch but parking was ample, look for most northerly entrance to the parking structure, not always marked well, and in fact the entrance was marked employees only after being told at another entrance to come to that one instead. After entering building, it was fairly well marked to lead visitors from parking to elevators to the 49th floor. We were seated immediately and offered the limited lunch menu and also shown the table service (buffet) which looked and was delicious and ample for a Monday lunch. Per my request we were seated in a corner table with a fantastic view of the river on two sides of the table from floor to ceiling.....breathtaking! My son ordered a deluxe hamburger off the menu which was grilled and prepared perfectly and his fries wee some of the best I've ever eaten, large cut with some skin still on just like he loves them! My wife and I had the buffet. I enjoyed the medium rare roast beef, sautéed vegetables, garden salad, sour dough roll with real butter, ice tea, and for dessert, small prepared portions ( the way I prefer desserts ) of raspberry mousse and strawberry cheese cake, coffee afterwards. My entire meal was very well prepared, hot was enjoyably hot, and food was flavorful and pleasing. My wife's meal consisted of more salads, a spring mix of pasta, arugula, and spinach which she enjoyed and the garden salad with baby tomatoes which was also very good and fresh. My wife had a mimosa which she enjoyed. Entire meal was $72 which I thought was reasonable for a special occasion, fantastic view, great food, and validated parking. Interior of vast is beautiful with some of the chairs and tables being a bit worse for wear, (clearly more visible for daytime dining than evening dining of course). I'd suggest Vast to Freinds for special occasions, as most restaurants in Oklahoma City, seating is very close to other tables and noise level seems to be a bit high unless you dine during the day/week as we did and enjoyed almost complete privacy and fairly quiet noise level. We'll be back.

The experience is definitely all about the view. I've been three times over the past eight months and the food is about what I've experienced at lunch buffets at hotel conventions, even when I've eaten dinner at The Vast. We've eaten there with groups and with just two people. Food is meh, I've had sword fish, steak, grouper (excellent) and chicken (worst chicken ever). Food was always dry and moderately cool. We've eaten before and after the new chef and can't tell a difference. If you get a window table then the view is great, interior tables are just like anything else. We've eaten at other "view" oriented restaurants like the Stratosphere in Vegas (Amazing food there by the way, and incredible view!). The vast really can't compare. I think a lot of people go there for the uniqueness, but I wonder how many people have eaten there more than a couple times. Summary: better food at any of the regular places (outback steak house, olive garden, Chikfilet) service is ok, really depends on the individual server - you'll get duds at any place. View is great if you've never seen OKC from that high up before. Never had a wait or problem making a reservation.

This was our 4th trip to Vast for dinner since it opened and probably our last. We will go back for a drinks and appetizers but we will pass on dinner there are much better steaks in OKC and it seems the food slips a little more toward average every time we go. But enough of the negatives on a positive note--- The view is epic. The service and staff is always very good. The food presents well and is fresh but it is just average. The beer and wine list is pretty good although they always seem to be out of something. Vast is a must see while in OKC!!!!

This has got to be the worst restaurant. I ordered a steak and asked where it comes from and the server didn't know. I should have known that was a bad sign, she did eventually return with an answer. I shrugged it off and ordered the steak anyway. It came tough. Let me say again my steak came tough because of the low quality meat. I can bbq a better steak at home. Our server was very kind and friendly and I wish I could give her 5 stars. The restaurant itself would get a zero from me. It tasted like a McDonald's chef struggling to put together fancy recipes. My steak was seasoned with coffee grounds, salt and pepper. We got a free appetizer which tasted like mayonnaise served on a store bought saltine that was salted again. I'm willing to bet the chef doesn't taste the food coming out of the kitchen and just throws the ingredients together. If I could tell the owner anything it would be to stop selling the view, stop living off your previous reputation, find a local rancher to get your meat, start tasting the food coming out of your kitchen and to get a new head chef. If you want to spend money I'd spend $100 at Espetus Churrascaria or $100 at Chez Pannise, but if you come here I hope you did it to just go up the elevator, fellow foodies you have been warned. 1 star for pretending you're going to serve me awesome food you impostor.

Growing up in Oklahoma I was so excited to come back into town and try this place. After spoiling myself in San Fran, LA, Seattle, Chicago, I was skeptical of how this would pan out. Views are breathtaking, service was fantastic, and the food was terrific. Very impressed! The place has a chill atmosphere, very modern, and dim lite to set a nice mood.

My wife and I went to Vast to celebrate our 39th anniversary. Friends of ours had been there and had a great meal so we decided to try it for special occasion. Our server Fatiya was very good and attentive. It is only because of her that I give 2 stars. When you are spending this much money I think you should feel that the meal was fabulous. This meal was far short of that. My wife ordered the lamb which came out hot and properly cooked. I decided to try the grouper which was the fresh fish choice of the nite. I also asked for a side of Brussels sprouts. The sprouts arrived hot but the fish was warm at best ( actually cold). My wife tasted the fish and agreed it was cold. Then the real disappointment. I told our server and she promptly picked up the plate. It was returned a few minutes later. It was the same piece of fish that I had sent back! It had probably been warmed in the microwave and put back on the plate. Any good restaurant would have prepared a new piece of fish. I was also unhappy that the manager did not visit when I sent the meal back When the manager came by I told her I was disappointed she apologized but no accommodation was offered. The piece of fish was tiny for $37 and the lamb chops were $47 for 3 chops. The dinner was over $200 in total. Way too much for the quality or quantity. I have eaten at Kurts other restaurants and had much better food. Go for the view and get a drink at the bar. Skip the food.

Came here for a weekday lunch with a visiting out of stater (mom in law) and my husband. My mom in law was immediately impressed with the restaurant decor, views, and really Devon tower over all. She ordered the halibut off the menu and my husband and I both went with the lunch buffet. My mom in laws dish looked great and she had no complaints. Our buffet was $22/person and included a drink (tea, coffee, soda). The buffet was really delicious! Salad bar, grilled veggie soup, grilled veggie side, mashed potatoes, salmon, chicken Marsala, and prime rib, meat/cheese platter, and assorted mini desserts. All the food was good but my absolute fav dish was the mashed potatoes! The servers in the buffet area were so friendly! Our own waiter (Matt) was great as well! We were checked on the perfect amount where u felt taken care of but not being rushed. Also, we asked our Waiter about seeing more views and he walked us around the different unoccupied private rooms to see the different views. Very considerate! Lastly, when you park underground, bring your parking ticket to have it validated. Really enjoyed our lunch here and looking forward to planning a dinner here.

Best value in town for what you get The view is not just a gimmick, the food is hands down some of the best in the city. The prices were better than expected, paid much more for much less. My expectations where high for service, food and atmosphere, they were all met and exceeded. I search out locally sourced ingredients and found them here. The fried green tomatoes where perfect, crisp, acidic and sweet, there were plated with with dollops of blue crab salad, perfect. The scallops were cooked perfectly, they melted in your mouth like butter. The pepper encrusted sirloin was of a good cut and size. This steak turned out to be one of the best steaks I have had ever. The view is spectacular with the food and quite atmosphere superb, I can not wait for my return visit.

Went to Vast on a Thursday night. The place was sufficiently packed, and we were glad to have gotten there a few minutes early for our reservation. We were a party of 6. Self Parking is $5. I believe valet is $10, but didn't use it. Service was impressive. Very attentive and very will informed about the menu. The view is of course spectacular, as I believe it's the highest point in Oklahoma city. The restaurant is situated at the top of the Devon tower. You will take an express elevator up, so prepare your ears for popping. Now for the food stuff... Cocktails and wine are very good. The wine selection is limited, at least for what I expected. Still good though. Appetizers: we had the creole shrimp cocktail and the mussels. Both we excellent. I suggest you get the shrimp. Well flavored, a bit of spice. Yumm. Salad: we ordered the butter lettuce salad. This was similar to the ice berg wedge you get at most places. Lettuce, tomato, bacon and blue cheese on a sliced head of ice berg. Two of us split it. This is a BIG salad to eat before a meal. I suggest splitting it. Meal: we had a range of dishes. The stand out was the pork. It was expertly cooked with a sweet, tangy bbq sauce. I suggest it. We also had the swordfish and a few Filet Mignons. The Filets were good, but not like a Red Prime steak. Swordfish was good. For the price, you expect a bit more. I don't mind paying alot for great food. Sides: I tried a few sides and was not impressed with any. Diced beets were flavorless. My potatoes were a mystery concoction with an odd consistency. I was not impressed with any of the sides at all. A good garlic mashed potato would be a great addition. The sides seem over done in terms of presentation 26th less concern on flavor. desserts: the reconstructed Apple pie was delicious. The petite desserts leave alot too be desired. It's a plate of 4 tiny desserts, including chocolate cheesecake, Apple tart, molten chocolate lava cake, and a macaroon. If you're craving a normal size portion of one of those, you're out of luck. They only come this way. All in all, the place is gorgeous, the view is wonderful, and the staff is great. The food could use some improvements. Go for the experience.

We went here on our anniversary and like everyone else; the environment and decor is amazing. The night view is a sight to see. The food on the hand was average. The steak was a bit burnt all around. The ravioli had a pretty interesting taste.. sweeter than I thought. We ordered the petite desserts which was probably the best part of the meal. They also gave us a complimentary cake for our celebration. As much as I love moscato the price was a bit much for something I can get for $25 max/per bottle. With all that being said.. that's why I gave it a 3 star. Staff is great. Environment is great. View is great. Food prettt average for the price you're paying. So I would recommend for sweet celebrations like anniversaries or out of town visitors who would like to see what OKC got to offer.

I feel like I need to warn those, who are considering a trip to VAST, here in Oklahoma City. One star is really too high. VAST is a restaurant that sits high atop the Devon tower, which can be seen from most anywhere in the city. It's 49 floors up and has a gorgeous view of our fair city, to which I'd promote just for the view. It's beautiful ... but keep reading. My husband and I saved up to be able to go to VAST, as it's a trendy new place that seemed perfect for a date night. The attire is dressy and the ambiance is supposed to be amazing. However, I must say that this organization was not prepared to handle any food allergies. So if you have any food challenges at all - you need to think twice before going. We clarified with our waiter, who was great by the way, that my husband had dire allergies and 'WOULD stop breathing' if ingesting the wrong thing. To the best of our knowledge, our waiter knew of the severity and alerted the chef to our needs. Within 5 minutes a food runner approached, holding two tiny plates, saying, "Vegetarian?" To which I replied, "Um, no. Gluten free." He set our plates down and I asked - to be sure - and pointed to my husband's plate ... "Is his gluten free?" The food server nodded and said, "Oh yes." Then he left us to our food. Now thankfully these tiny plates had tiny servings on them, as this was our saving grace. Because within a few minutes our waiter approached, in panic saying, "Oh no! You ate the wrong one. That one is not gluten free! I'm so sorry." He pointed to my husband's plate and was openly upset. I can't fault our waiter ... he really tried to do the right thing. The manager however ... is another story. After my husband the wrong item, to which he could have stopped breathing, we spent a very tense 20-30 minutes to see if he was okay. Granted manangement checked on us, but I feel it was only to make sure we were still able to pay our bill. Why you ask? Because after the smoke had cleared, and we finished eating the right items ... the manager served us a bill and said 'if anything would have happened to him, we'd have taken care of the bill-but since he ended up okay... you'll have to pay." Are you kidding me? We had one of the worst experiences of our lives, and that comment was like a slap in the face. We weren't asking for anything to be comped, although it would have been nice if they had comped at least my husband's food, as he's the one that dealt with not knowing if he was going to stop breathing. I would have thought that Vast, being a high class establishment, would have put customers first but all they cared about was our bill in the end -no matter the trauma we suffered. So to you, considering where to dine in our fine city, make sure you remember to check yelp.com for all reviews for this restuarant, as I'm not the only one who have had issues there. I think the owners need to restructure their management and policies to accommodate customers first and themselves second. It's not worth the money if they don't care about your experience.

i liked it once i got up there, but the elevate ride is not for the faint of heart. my ears popped on the way to the top and it seemed like it took forever to get up there. for some that might not be an issue but I'm scared of heights. beautiful view even though i wasn't going towards the window! great wine (my reason for making the treck up there) but it was a little pricey.

I read a lot of the Yelp reviews before I took my Husband here for his birthday last night and I was a little skeptical. There seemed to be lots of complaints about both slow service and rude service. There we some complaints about the quality of the food as well. We didn't have any complaints. We began our meal a glass of sparkling wine and the amuse bouche which was pineapple chunks in a sweet thai chili sauce. It did, in fact, amuse my bouche. We next had the Butter Lettuce Salad. That too, was delicious. I don't care for bacon, but they had small bits of barbecue bacon on there that was amazing! It did take a little while for us to get our main dish, but I assume that is because they were making it fresh rather than scooping it out of a pre-cooked and pre-portioned container and reheating it. My Husband had the Strip Steak and I had the feature of the night which was a crusted sea bass with Yukon gold potatoes and baby bok choy. I was torn between that and the Korean BBQ because I have a thing about bok choy. I love it. We both enjoyed our meals immensely. We had no complaints. The flavors were good, nothing was over cooked or under cooked and the dishes were all very original It was not something we could have gotten just anywhere - which makes paying the absorbitant amount of money required to eat there a little easier to stomach. As far as the service and atmosphere - the view is, of course, spectacular. The restaurant is small and intimate and the service is very attentive. Your water glass does not go empty. We had a waitress named Teresa and she was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful with recommendations when we asked, but she was not overbearing either. The valets downstairs were friendly and fast and the host staff was helpful and kind. It was a very expensive dinner for two, but the whole experience was so nice that I really didn't mind the price for the level of quality that Vast delivered.

DISCLAIMER: This review is based solely on the bar, as my husband and I had dinner somewhere else earlier in the evening. We couldn't resist the temptation of seeing the city from 49 floors in the air. That was one reason - okay, the primary reason - we decided to have drinks at Vast Saturday night. It's definitely a built-in marketing ploy, as I imagine a lot of people would chose to dine/drink here simply for the view. Thankfully, we had a good experience, so 49 floors up or not, we would definitely come back. Vast seemed to me to be a very intimate and inviting place. People were in a good mood, we were greeted with smiles starting from the hostess on floor #1 all the way to the top. I was reading some of the other reviews regarding the poor service, but we had none of that experience. Even witnessed a very busy server taking time out to take a photo of another couple nearby. We were not big spenders that night, only purchasing one glass of Chimay Blue and a Pimm's Cup Nouveau (one of their specialties with Pimms, strawberries, mint, and ginger beer - pretty tasty!) ... but I never felt like we were treated with any less respect than someone dining on $30 swordfish. Luckily, we scored a window seat and spent about half an hour taking in the lights of Oklahoma City. Enjoyed our brief visit and lovely drinks, and most definitely will come back one day to enjoy the food.

Good: The building is spectacular and instantly impressive when you walk into the lobby. Signs guide you towards the entrance to the restaurant, where a greeter at a check-in podium confirms your reservation and then points you to the elevator. Needs Improvement: They check you in but don't communicate that guests are coming up to the restaurant in the elevator. When you arrive at the top floor for the restaurant you are not greeted and you have to present yourself all over again. Easy Fix: The greeter should alert the restaurant who is coming up. Unacceptable: Needless waiting for a table and being asked to sit on a bench when you arrive. Five-to-ten minutes of waiting even though no changes to our table were made and it was ready. Numerous other reviewers were also suspicious about this practice, and I think that it was there by directive to create mystique. Easy Fix: Offer people a drink if you are making them wait, and only make them wait for legitimate reasons. Excellent: The facility ambiance and the view are as impressive. Window seats are obviously better, but all of the tables benefit from the elevation and floor-to-ceiling windows. Good: The variety of food on the menu was what one should expect. The quality and flavors were consistent with that level of dining. All arrangements of the plates were well-balanced and the portions were medium. The food was a bit slow to arrive, but not in a negative way. You will have ample time to talk and enjoy the company of your guests. Needs Improvement: Listed specials are often understocked (2-8 per night) and are quickly unavailable. Like nearly all non-classical restaurants these days, the staff are there to celebrate their own food and the restaurant itself and are not trained in modifying their offers to ensure a good dining experience. This is reflected in the obsequious questions such as "And are you finding everything to be excellent with your meal?" No fewer than five people interfaced with us to ask us to recite superlatives about the meal. Easy Fix: Let the waiter/waitress be the one who interfaces with the diners. Occasionally a floor manager is fine, but not more. Unacceptable: It was overly-precious and pretentious at several turns. Unnecessary tomes about the salted butter being European style, extraneous adjectives and food-origin descriptors were constant, and over-wrought versions of attentiveness were poured on thick, giving the service a patronizing and artificial feel. I realize that many people equate brown-nosing with excellent service (customers and wait staff both), but it comes off as amateurish and rookie at a restaurant charging high-tier prices. Realistic Fix: Be more genuine. Focus on providing a great experience for differing tastes, and not a self-stroke of how good the restaurant is. A great dining experience is where both the diner and the restaurant feel that they are mutually honored to have the other there (I'm trying to say 'get over yourselves a bit'). For goodness sake, if you allow people to wear cowboy hats and jeans IN THE RESTAURANT (which you do), then you can certainly lighten up on the pomp.

My husband and I leisurely enjoyed dinner at Vast recently. The service was incredible. The food divine. The ambience was pleasing. Worth the expense.

My fiancé took me here for our two years anniversary when the restaurant first opened! He made me closed my eyes until we got there but I traced the turns in my head from our house and I was jumping up and down in my seat in excitement! We ordered two drinks each, an appetizer to share, and two entrees. Our dinner ended up taking over an hour and half to cook! We weren't sure what happened, but our waiter and the restaurant manager apologized over and over. We ended up getting two complimentary soups and two desserts. We wouldn't mind our dinner being late again! The view is breathtaking and the music was sweet and romantic. The bread that kept coming because dinner was late are amazing! I love the jalapeños ones! We took a picture at the top (we had too!) and it's one of my most adored picture of us. We loved it so much that we are getting married this May 2015 at the level above (50th floor) of the Devon Tower! I highly recommend The Vast to every sweet and romantic couple out there!

We went to vast on Thursday night this week with 7 other friends. Everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves we had a wonderful night with plenty of food to eat I highly recommend the buffet. I noticed that the menu has changed, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet and I'm looking forward to having dinner there again soon. I love the view at night when the skies are clear. I highly recommend taking there someone special for a nice evening.

I was visiting Oklahoma City for a work event and was lucky enough to be treated to a lunch buffet at Vast! The building is stunning, the view was amazing and the food was impeccable! I will say that the atmosphere was a little "stuffy" but the food was so incredibly delicious that I could easily overlook any snobbish vibes I was feeling. It was one of the loveliest restaurants an experiences I've had! If you're treating yourself to a special occasion and want a memorable dining experience this is your spot!!! With eating off of a lunch buffet I can't remember everything I tasted but I know it was all fabulous! Chicken Caesar salad, prime rib shaved at the buffet, several dessert options to choose from. Fabulous!!!!!

I only experienced the lounge. My wife and I weren't impressed. Specialty mixed drinks are good but expensive. I had a whiskey on the rocks and was charged extra for the rocks - lesson learned. Not a good beer selection. Service was not very good, the bartenders seemed like they didn't want to be there. We had to sit at the bar because the tables were full, which was very boring. Keep your smartphone out because they have no TV's.

It's okay. I'm not thrilled about this place. It's located in the top of Devon tower, so it does provide a great view. Last time I was there we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks. I can't speak for the dinner menu but I have had lunch here and I think Flint is better.

Honestly, for OKC I should give 4 stars. But I can't. Here's my experience: I stayed at the affiliated hotel the Colcord. I have stayed at the Colcord maybe 10 times. They used to have a great small restaurant filled with the best oil and gas men ever. Great drinkers, great debaters. I so loved that restaurant (c . 2010). Then Devon, the corp that owns the Colcord built a skyscraper and changed the small, awesome restaurant into basically a sports bar. People, I tried to like it - I was fond of the buffalo chili - but drunk office workers and sports is not my thing. I did meet Alice Cooper there, so hat's off! Anyhoo, I started moving externally but nothing really got me. OKC is becoming foodie but still issues. Yesterday I was told about Vast. Wow- right in my hotel! Kinda. At my front desk, I asked about Vast. "Go thru the doors. There will be a host". O..K... Rather odd. There was a host. Awesomely reading an actual book! Again, mystery. She said to tell the Vast hostesses that I was coming to eat. What else? Up I went 49 floors to experience the view. If you know OKC, the view is interesting. If not, it looks like a Chicago airport hotel room. They had carpaccio on the menu. I love it. But in US, raw meat is an issue, so I always ask: "Is it raw raw meat?" Yes! Ordered. Not raw but freezing cold. Weird. Then I ordered halibut. Plate hot, contorni hot, fish lukewarm. Sent back. New fish piping hot. Thank you. Manager came. Oddly, carpaccio taken off bill. Good wines, good prices. In the end, I say, OKC you are coming up! But not quite. Less is more? Love ya!

Beautiful and professionally run place to visit if you're in Oklahoma City. The view is pretty spectacular with OKC's pancake of lights, highways and stadiums sprawled out below. The ambiance feels high end if a little stiff as we were probably the youngest patrons there by a few years. Had a couple Old Fashions that were crisp and tasty. My steak and lobster mac was delicious and not too heavy. Servers and staff are courteous and attentive if not overly warm or engaging but I'm not sure if that's the vibe they're going for.

We went to Vast to experience the view from the top of the Devon Tower, and it did not disappoint. We went at night and sat against a window, and our view stretched until the lights stopped at the end of the suburbs! I've been to the top of the space needle in Seattle and Rockefeller Center in NYC, and I enjoyed this experience just as much. Sure you're just looking out over central OK, but it was beautiful at night. The food and service was just what I would expect, and we enjoyed everything that we ordered. The menu is definitely more upscale and creative with side dishes and meat preparations than most restaurants in the area, so don't expect your typical offerings. And be prepared to drop at least $100 for 2 people, ours was $150 with tip. But consider it a premium for an experience that you won't find anywhere else in the region and its worth it in my opinion.

For starters, our waiter was fantastic. His recommendations were top notch and he was very polite and helpful. However, the consistency of quality didn't quite meet the price point. There were, however, some high points: We were a table of 4 who all ordered appetizers, the winner of the 4 was hands down the lobster ravioli. It was fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The green tomatoes were also excellent. The winner for the entrees was the lamb chops as far as flavor goes, however only one piece was cooked properly and the rest were nearly well done. They took note of this and offered us free dessert, which was very much appreciated. The bananas foster we got for dessert was very creative and delicious as well. Now for the low points: the combinations of food didn't always make sense. I ordered the molasses duck breast, which, though quite tender, had a rather odd pairing of some odd sort of room temperature bean mush and what I'm fairly sure was sautéed Swiss chard. The menu stated leeks, but I don't believe that's what I received. Overall, the plate just didn't make sense. The dessert special I ordered was a chocolate ganache cake and while the chocolate ganache was rich, the cake tasted like week old, dry, boxed cake. Overall, the menu just needs a few tweaks to really be consistent. Certain aspects are high quality and well thought out, but others are executed rather poorly. I hope they get the kinks worked out, because there's definitely potential there, but for now...it's not quite the quality you expect at that price point. I had high hopes for this place, and there were a few aspects that fell flat.

Great restaurant. Fabulous service, valet is great only $10 and filet mignon was best id had in OKC. So good. Agave glazed salmon was also ok and I had petite desserts which I didn't like myself but that's personal taste. You must try their sizzle drink with mango and jalapeño vodka mix. So good. Husband says best drink he ever had

Came here with the family unit consisting of Dad, his wife, Brother, Sister and her family and the wife for a Christmas dinner event kinda thing... Great place, and really pretty, great views and the drinks are really neat.... The food was decent, I didn't really enjoy my steak too well, but everyone else had some decent food... I would say they could work on their tempertures a little bit as my steak was a little chilly and I NEVER send food back to the kitchen once delivered to the table. ....

Truth is, I've never been to Vast. I live in San Diego, CA. The reason I'm writing this review isn't about what I've heard about the amazing view, food or atmosphere. What I'm writing about is their incredible level of service. One of my coworkers had her wallet stolen during a company event at Vast. She wasn't concerned about the credit cards or driver's license, the $17 in cash or the wallet itself. As I would be, she was so disappointed to have lost a photo of her father she carried in it. I felt so bad for her when she told me this happened. Today I got an email from this same coworker saying the Vast's manager found her wallet. She was so thrilled! The cash was gone but everything else was there - including her dad's picture. The manager even gave her $20 when she brought the wallet to the office and dropped it off. The fact that the manager personally dropped off the wallet at our OKC office was an incredibly kind gesture. The $20 was just icing on the cake. I am so very impressed with the manager's thoughtfulness that I had to post my coworker's experience on Yelp. Everyone at our company had a wonderful time at the event; everything was fantastic and this is just another reason to visit Vast. Any time I'm able to make it to OKC that's the first place I'm having dinner at. Thank you, Vast!

Made reservations for four for a Saturday night about two weeks ahead. My time options around prime dinner time were already restricted to 6:15 and 7:45. We got there about 45 minutes early to grab a drink at the bar before dinner. Caught the sunset and had a couple of well made cocktails. At our table we had the garlic gnocchi, a bottle of wine, the tasting menu, a steak, the salmon and the dessert sampler. The tab was ~$85/person. The tasting menu food was great. It was more than enough food for me, but maybe not for a big guy. They brought out an amuse bouche and a little extra piece of dessert with the bill which I always appreciate. The service was friendly and timely. The butter was extra fat ("European style" :-p). I would happily return for a special occasion in the future.

Though we made reservations a week in advance, our choices were 5:15 or 9:30. The draw is the view and evidently, the restaurant is still packing them in. We told them this was a birthday dinner; the person taking our reservation said that Valet parking of $10 would be waived for us. We went to the 5:15 seating. We started feeling rushed by our waiter, who was very nice, but obviously had instructions to move his customers along. We felt this urgency throughout our meal, though we explicitly stated that we were in no hurry. We ordered martinis and there was $1 up-charge for blue cheese olives. That was a new one for us. Appetizers were lobster ravioli, which looked pretty lonely on a large plate and were average. I could do as well with packaged ravioli at home. The fried green tomatoes were very good, very crispy, but not at all greasy, with a nice crab salad like spread for them. My boyfriend had the beet salad, which should have been called "Many greens salad with the occasional, nearly invisible beet." This was a 0. I had halibut for my entree and it was good, though nothing out of the ordinary. My carrots were skittering off the plate because they were so uncooked. I like them to have some substance but not so hard that cutting them causes pieces to fly around. My boyfriend's lamb was also good, but nothing super special. For my bday dessert, I had their cherry sweet potato bread pudding that was horrible. Two bites for me, one for my boyfriend and that was it. I try bread pudding everywhere I go, and hands down, this was one of the worst. We advised the waiter of that as well. We did not find the wait staff too la-di-da, but they are instructed, I'm sure, to be a bit aloof and reserved as part of the ambiance of the restaurant. For an expensive meal, this was clearly a disappointment, and we will not ever go again. My boyfriend had been there once before with a business party and thought the underwhelming food was because of the nature of that dinner. Apparently not. Oh, and our $10 valet parking fee was not waived.

I had a surprisingly mediocre experience here back in January when I went with my fiance. I was expecting a really spectatular experience going in, and maybe that was the problem. BUT...I had yet to had a bad OKC-food experience until this dinner... We arrived on-time but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated despite having reservations. That was the first strike. Then, we got to the table and were given menus, but the waitress didn't introduce herself and didn't ask if she could bring us beverages, water or otherwise, strike 2. The items on the menu were of the more expensive variety, which we expected due to the locale, but we expected them to leave our mouths watering, begging for more, and they were pretty mediocre. Dessert was a bomb as well. We ordered the petite dessert, which was "a little bit of everything" and left a lot to be desired. The champagne mousse cake had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It was a fun experience because you can see the whole city, which was nice, but it was overpriced and the service and food left a lot to be desired. On our way out, a gentleman who worked at the restaurant asked how our experience was. Being that the place had recently opened and we were a little bitter about our rather large bill and disappointed bellies, we were honest with the man. Not mean or unnecessarily negative, but we told him what we thought of our experience. We then learned that he was the restaurant manager, which we then felt a little bad about, but if anyone was going to hear our constructive criticism and actually do something about it, he was our man. Not sure if we'll ever go back, but I hope they're working to get some of the kinks out, or at least improve the service!

Vast is fair to good. After reading reviews that ranged from 1 to 5 stars, I decided to give it a try...and not for just the novelty of dining 50 floors above the great state of Oklahoma. There was an awkwardness while seating us. The greet/host staff seemed slightly confused about where to seat us even though the seating was plentiful. Odd. All seats are good. I would suggest the second tier in as you face the absolutely spectacular view though sitting at the window for the un-vertically challenged may be equally thrilling! The menu is safe, a choice of everything you could wish to have - fish, chicken, pasta etc. I asked about a dining option for my son and our waiter assumed what I can only describe as an incredulous pose and chastising tone and said in a dead-pan voice - "he can have anything on the menu" and proceeded to stare blankly with a sort of mild challenge. "So", I said, "no possibility of a child friendly prep of what is on the menu"? "No". Ok, with inflexibility established, we moved on to ordering. We ordered the quail to start. It was Lilliputian in its portion and so over prepared that it could have been billed as quail jerky. The lamb was served just warm, it seems as though it had been waiting on the perfectly cooked steak. The timing on the service was good, allowing for conversation without wondering when the next course was coming or having courses arrive over one another. Our waiter through out the meal continued to highlight his inability to relate while upping his robot quotient with each course. Overall, the menu and the food courses lacked inspiration and could use a good dose of passion and innovation. It was as though Vast has taken the safe way out, determining not to offend and unfortunately ending up being mediocre. Because Vast is still working out the kinks, I plan to visit again. Though, if Vast does not attend to wait staff, dining experience and developing a show case menu, it runs the risk of becoming a novelty dining experience much like the CN Tower in Toronto or the Space Needle in Seattle. I would like to see Vast buck the sky high trend by not only having the most spectacular view but the most superlative regional dining experience across menu, preparation, consistency and staff.

We had dinner at Vast to celebrate our anniversary. Had a great meal. Service was prompt. Our waiter, Danny, was great. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. We also had drinks at the bar before dinner, and service was great there, too. Top notch place.

A good experience but overpriced. Vast attempts to replicate the fine dining of larger cities. What they got right was the menu, mixed drinks, desserts, and atmosphere. The wait staff, however, is not very knowledgeable. I suppose OKC doesnt attract a contingent of professional waiters like you'd expect in more substantial population centers. We asked about menu items and were told that they were all 'good.' This would have been endearing if the price was more reasonable, but it was just frustrating when paying over $80 a plate.

Ok so before you decide to eat here you understand that you are paying, mostly, for the real estate and the view. This is not to undermine the service or the kitchen, because both were phenomenal given the framework within which they have to work. Our server was amazing but I found it strange, and a bit insulting, that they wouldn't serve us a side of French fries from the bar menu because "they don't serve fries in the dinning area". I understand that we are 'fine dining' and they want to keep up the appearance of sophistication but I still live by the old idiom that 'the customer is always right' and that a happy customer is a repeat customer. This should be especially true in a fine dinning restaurant where the business is centered around 'service'. The #1 reason I go out and spend $200 on a dinner for two is because (theoretically) I get excellent service. Excellent service,to me, means bringing me a couple of steak fries with my $60 slab of meat, regardless of menu choices. To sum up, the service is actually consistently GOOD from the wait staff (despite poor management policy). The food is subpar for the price and I've had a much better fillet mignon, twice the size, at Ruth's Chris for comparable money and more amenable 'off menu' options. The view is amazing but in my opinion the view from the rooftop of the art museum is comparable, or even better in some ways. If you are thinking about eating here, I suggest NOT making reservations and simply asking to be seated at the bar (usually no wait in the early evening) They do have tasty custom cocktails and the bar menu is reasonably priced and pretty delicious.

You can find the entrance to the visitor parking garage on Harvey Ave. It's a dead end street that leads up to the Devon tower. You get a ticket and as long as you get it validated at the front desk of the restaurant, parking will be free otherwise you'd have to pay $25 without validation. It was a really short walk from the parking garage to the main lobby of the tower so valet parking isn't even necessary. Once inside the lobby, there were lots of signs that pointed to where the elevators that lead up to Vast so you really can't get lost. We told the hostess that we had a reservation and had to wait about 5-10 mins for them to get our table ready. That was fine because it gave us the opportunity to look around and walk up to the windows and take in the views! We had the lunch buffet which is $18 per person. There weren't a whole lot of food options but what was available was great. The buffet area is separate from the dining room and was a reaaaally long walk from our booth. It was a chore to carry that heavy plate and try not to trip on my heels on their shiny/slippery marble floors! You go to Vast for the view and ambiance more than anything. We got window seats and I couldn't help but stare outside the whole time. It was just fun being up so high in the clouds! Dress code: Everyone was dressed up! Every man, including the waiters, were in suit and tie. Women were in dresses, heels, or business attire. When we first arrived, a family of 3 came into our elevator. They were in sweat pants, hoodies, flip flops, and had extremely messy hair....they basically looked like they all just rolled out of bed. They also looked royally mad. I have a feeling that they were turned away either for looking like a hot mess or they didn't have reservations. So I would suggest at least looking somewhat decent when coming here. My friend and I had a lovely lunch. Our waiter was so very helpful and kind, food was great, the view can't be beat, prices were high but I feel like it's worth it if you treat yourself to Vast every once in a while! We will be back!

Vast... it just gets better! We went for a special Birthday dinner, and could not have been more pleased! Mike O'Hara and his staff keep elevating the food, cocktails and service and are taking this restaurant to the next level. The food was delicious. We started off with a special cocktail menu created by the bartenders, four course of hand crafted delicious cocktails. I then had a delicious butter lettuce salad and a rack of lamb that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And then they brought out the Italian Butter Cream Carrot Cake... which was beyond expectation. To the past reviewers that may not have had a great experience, all I can say is that you need to go back. The changes they have made in just a few months are amazing, the staff really cares about the details, and the food and cocktails have truly been elevated. Will definitely be back SOON!

I took my significant other here for her birthday and it was absolutely awesome. The waiter was amazing, everybody we had the pleasure of meeting were wonderful. Amazing date night idea. We had the duck and it was spectacular. We ordered one appetizer, one entree, and one desert and just shared everything and I spent about $80. So make sure to come with a little extra money. Totally worth it though.

Yes the view is great. However the staff is so uptight that it kinda kills the whole thing. I understand that they are trying to keep it classy but seriously, you can be classy and friendly at the same time. Anyhow I would recommend that you just go up to the bar have a drink look out the window then go eat somewhere else.

Parking garage situation is atrocious, and the valet/garage attendants are incredibly rude and condescending. I mean, it's cool that you have a thorough understanding of the enigma code that is your parking set-up, but to pretty much call me stupid and yell at me because I followed an arrow that said 'vast parking' is a bit uncalled for.

I have no idea why the reviews are so low. If you are going for the view you are missing the point, it's all about the food! Don't misunderstand me the ambience is the best in Oklahoma! The mixology..... Just trust them! When you appreciate art, you will appreciate Vast. Enjoy!

My wife and I chose Vast to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The food was wonderful, especially the lobster ravioli. I had the Cajun-blackened ribeye and my wife had the filet--both cooked to perfection. Service (Danny did a great job) was attentive but not hovering, the views amazing. It's important to realize this is not your usual Oklahoma food and you're not going to be in and out in 30 minutes. Take your time and enjoy. Be prepared to spend some money especially if you drink wine. Trust me, it's easy for the tab to be $200 for 2 people, but for a special occasion like an anniversary--definitely worth it.

Go for the views. I got to drop by Vast last week for a party and tonight for dinner with my family. The views are incredible and you should go. No reservation needed, just sit at the bar. They have only been open for 5 days, so I'm going to go easy on them. I'll try not to be harsh. We started off with salad, quail app, and soup. The salad was fresh greens and had a good dressing. The quail appetizer looked yummy, but my brother didn't rave about it. My soup was lobster and butternut squash. Don't freak out when they bring you an almost empty bowl with some foam and lobster. They will come back with the squash soup and pour it over. It was creamy, but the foam was tart and unexpected. It was very similar to the old fashion I had. The main courses we had were the salmon, strip, scallop, and fillet. The salmon was tasty and a little spicy. The scallops were flavored well, but not as fresh as those I had last week in Vegas. The strip won the night with a great coffee and chili rub with an amazing sweet potato cake. The fillet was good with a simple pepper flavoring. Ask for bread and let me know how it was, we didn't get any. Deserts were sparse, only 3 choices. We tried the banana fried pies, which were yummy. The ice cream was ginger and a little different. We also had the petite deserts, which was hard to share. The sherbet was amazing. The chocolate was good and bitter. The apple pie was yummy. The shooter wasn't great. I'll stick with the bananas. Overall I was happy. The service wasn't worth the price paid, but the view was. The hostess was a doll and we enjoyed talking with her.

Do you like paying large amounts of money to be treated like scum? Do you like being made to feel like you are a burden by stiff waitstaff? Do you have a special occasion coming up that you would like to have ruined by rude service? Are you the type of person who enjoys eating their meals accompanied by emotions of anger and frustration? If so, I highly recommend Vast. We were disappointed at how bland the food was. The service was terrible. Although our meal went smoothly without any problems or conplaints, our waiter - Dennis - had an attitude and was unprofessional, offensive, and rude. I felt uncomfortable leaving a tip. We will not be coming back. I would recommend having dinner somewhere else and then coming here for drinks / dessert from their bar if you are interested in the view.

I took my husband to vast to celebrate his birthday. It was his first time there so I wanted him to have a great experience. The reason I am giving them 2 stars is because we were seated in one of the center tables. After 2 minutes of being seated I realized one of the view tables was open. I asked the waiter if we could be moved and after he asked his manager he said that the waitress in that area had a larger party going on and she was ready to leave. It was fine, not really a big deal. However, 10 minutes later another couple was seated next to us.. They requested the same table and without hesitation they were moved. That was VERY UNFAIR and RUDE on their part!!! Other than that service was great and food was really good. We both ordered steak and it was cooked to perfection although the mashed potatoes were way too salty. It was overall a decent experience with the exception of the seating arrangements they have going on.. :/

I have been to Vast 3 times now. The first and the third time was for lunch, the second was for drinks in the evening. All three times I have been impressed. Let's start with Lunch. Both times I have had a reservation and have been sat at a lovely window seat. I personally think that going to Vast during the day is the best time because you can take in the great views! I also think that going for lunch is the best value. They offer menu items, but both times I have been I have eaten their lunch buffet. It is called the Daily Table and is $18 for unlimited buffet and a drink. What a deal! I mean really, you pay $12 at Golden corral (not that I ever eat there). At Vast, you get delicious gourmet food plus a view! The menu on the Daily Table changes daily, but always has a great selection. They have a beautiful Assortment of artisan cheeses and anti-pasta items. They offer a daily soup, housemate breads, a small but fresh salad bar with rotating items, a carving station, a daily fish, vegetables, and the best part...a dessert bar of tiny assorted desserts plus a hot dessert. Here is what they served the past times I was there, just to give you an idea: Cheeses: humbolt fog, chèvre goat, smoked cheddar, Gouda, Stilton. With nuts and dried fruit. Also offered olives and assorted cold cut meats. Soup: garlic cauliflower purée, butternut squash purée (the both we outstanding) Salad bar :lettuces, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, as well as some cold salads like an artichoke and hearts of palm salad. They have ranch and olive oil and vinegar, but I wish they provided a vinaigrette. Entrees: first time I went was ham with orange marmalade, fried tilapia, crawfish Mac and cheese, roasted squash, and purple potatoes. The second time was a beautiful carved chicken with mushroom gravy, carves beef tenderloin, rainbow trout, roasted carrots and leeks, and roasted fingerling potatoes. Dessert: so many to list...coconut macaroons, cookies, eclairs, raspberry mousse, mini cheesecake bites, creme brûlée, peach cobbler, cherry crumble, etc. See! Well worth the money! And I really can't say enough about the service. Our reservation was at 1:30, and by the time we headed to the buffet it was 1:45. They stop serving at 2. However, they guaranteed us that they would not close down until we finished eating. Not only did they fulfill their promise, but they brought out fresh, hot food! We were expecting to get the leftover food since we were the last table to be served. Everything was delicious. Our server was extremely accommodating as well. All in all, both lunch experiences were great. For cocktails, we sat the bar and then moved to one of the window seats when it came available. Both of our cocktails were yummy, and I hope to try different ones when I go back. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and helpful with choosing a drink. We were very under dressed, but he didn't seem to mind and wasn't snooty at all. Vast offers valet parking (not sure if there is a charge). But the street parking around the myriad gardens is available and free after 6pm. And $3 for 2 hours. I think vast is a great addition to the OKC dining scene and is perfect for a special night out or lunch with friends and business associates. What a great place to take out of town guests as well.

We had dinner with friends at Vast. It is a beautiful and unique setting. Every detail of the building and restaurant is impeccable. It is a fantastic destination. The service we received from our waiter and all of the staff was probably the finest service I've ever had without them being snobby. Very professional and detail oriented in their presentation. We enjoyed our drinks and they have a nice selection of beers. The wine list is very good. For dinner our table had adobo coffee crusted strip steak, chicken breast, and the special ahi. All the dinners were good, well presented, and tasty although the ahi had so much peppercorn that my mouth was afire by the end of the meal. It took a long time to get our dinners. Another group of our friends were at a different table and they had their desserts before we received our dinner. Our desserts were good - bananas foster, strawberry short cake, and the sampler. This is a very nice restaurant but I couldn't quite bring myself to give it five stars. The view and surroundings are unique. The service is outstanding, but a zing is missing. I can't quite put my finger on what was lacking but maybe it is that I've had similar experiences at lesser destinations. I would definitely recommend Vast to someone for an experience and ambiance and will go there again but when it comes to elegant dining, I can think of several better places.

After reading a mixed bag of reviews, my husband and I made the leap and chose Vast as part of our tenth anniversary celebration. I'm so glad we did! We called the morning of our anniversary (it fell on a Friday) and there were two reservation times available (we felt fortunate that there were any times left because of our procrastination), 5 and 9:15. We opted for 5, and that was another fortunate turn because if a later time would have been available, we would have missed seeing the sunset. An added bonus to our experience was watching the city transform from day to night. The service was fantastic. Every need was met, and most importantly, our meal was tailored to our vegan diet. The food: We started with roasted tofu. Everything we had was great, but this ended up being my favorite. Ultimately, it was a warm, smoky curry. The flavors were rich and melted together perfectly. The pistachios were a fun surprise, not only in texture, but flavor. I would go back to have this dish over and over again. We split the roasted beet salad. It was dressed with a light, slightly sweet dressing and roasted beets. This was a simple salad that worked well between a heavier first course and our entrees. Halving the salad made it the perfect size for us as part of our meal. I saw some salads come out that looked like they would have sufficed as an entree. Our entrees were the Vegetarian Menagerie and Vegetables en Papillote. Both were delicious. As far as a favorite, I think the Vegetarian Menagerie won. There was more variety in flavors and textures, i.e., it was a little more interesting. The marinated portabella was amazing. I easily gave Vast a five-star rating because there's nothing else like it in OKC. My one [very minor] complaint was the the host didn't ask if I would like to check my coat (I would have). The food was great, and the fact that there were vegan options every step of the way, minus dessert, was an added bonus. Our experience was a wonderful way to start what ended up being a perfect evening.

I agree with many of the previous reviews, sadly. For a restaurant of this stature, venue, and price point, I had such higher hopes. The wine list is fine, but if you order a glass, you get the small, cheap wine glasses that closely resemble the ones I bought for $3 a pop at IKEA. Though I know these aren't the only ones they have because the table next to us that ordered a bottle got the fancy, $35 a plate restaurant-style glasses. Then there's the food. The lobster ravioli appetizer was truly tasty, but also odd. First, I don't understand why one would deep fry those beautiful claws, and in a heavy batter too. It could have at least been a light tempura. But what baffled me more was the overwhelming flavor of fall in the dish. I can't quite pin point what the flavor was, but it took me to October - in June. Starting off a meal with a big question mark about the chef's mindset because you're worried he's stuck in another season is not exactly good. Honestly, the amuse bouche was the best thing I ate. It was light, fresh Asian-inspired lobster salad on crispy wontons. Vast, you should make that an appetizer. I wish that were the only thing I had. Well, maybe except for the jalapeno cream brioche bread. That was perfectly balanced with spice, salt, and yeast. My duck came out slightly over-cooked, and cut in far too large of chunks. The sauce under it was one of the best I've ever had though. The sweet potato puree next to it was like candy and terrible though. It's those glimmers of amazing that really give me pause. A phenomenal amuse bouche, a phenomenal sauce, and mediocre everything else. Strange. Dessert was fancy, but just ok. The photo I took on my phone did it more justice than the bite in my mouth. Same as my after dinner drink. Service was fine. I agree with another reviewer's comment of "stiff." But the view is undeniably beautiful. Overall, there are a lot of other places I'd rather go than Vast. But with glimmers of hope, perhaps they can salvage the currently over-pretentious, over-priced food.

The view is great. The food is okay and the service is awful. There are MANY other restaurants in Oklahoma City with food and service that far surpass what we received during our time at Vast. We were treated so poorly that we will never return. Don't waste your time and money.

My partner and I ate there on our last night in OKC. The location of our table was outstanding with awesome views as expected. Service was good and the food was exceptional. I would definitely recommend the duck. If we are ever in OKC we will return for sure. Thank you very much to that special member of staff.

Over priced, over rated, view sucks, employees are snobs. And don't wear $200 jeans. Won't let you in. Will never go back

Vast is Amazing. 1st. the View is unmatched. No restaurant on Oklahoma can compete with that 2nd. the restaurant itself is very cool, modern sleek , wonderful. 3rd the service is very good, and because it is all new should be excellent in a few months. 4th the food is quite amazing. we were a party of 8 and everyone loved every course. we even had some food alergy issues that they handled quite well. 5th the Wine list is unbelievable , and is growing to over 1000 wines. Wow un heard of in Okla. 6th Price is verymuch in line with this level of fine dining, actually you would pay twice as much on either coast or Chicago for the same thing. Can't wait to go back

Vast... what can I say other than wow... and another word to describe it... classy! I went to try their lunch buffet which was at a surprising price of $14! The restaurant is located at the top floor of the Devon tower and provides a overhead view of the entire city... simply put... there is NOTHING like this in the entire city... this is as good as a view as it gets to see the entire view of Oklahoma City. The food was pretty dang awesome! Lots of stuff to choose from and all very good quality food! There were things like crab chowder, steak with sauteed mushrooms, pork lions (cust by a staff member), mashed potatoes (well prepared), salad bar, and various pastries for desert Somethings to consider if your going to Vast #1: If your coming for lunch/dinner you NEED reservations, you can reserve your seats at opentable.com , #2 dress up! This is the kind of place where you better look classy and show off those nice fancy clothes you got lying around! There is also a bar area and I dont believe you need a reservation for that area (has some lounge seats and what not to sit on & of course the area area itself) #3 if can park your vehicle at devon parking lot & they will not charge you for it as long as you validate your parking ($25 otherwise) #4 the elevator... I thought you would get to see yourself going up the levels but to my surprise you do not, it's just a clear white light you see as you are going up the elevator... but when you get to the top the view is absolutely stunning and breath taking... all i can is there is literally nothing like it in Oklahoma City... Whether your on a date, anniversary, birthday party...or any other special occasion, this is where you want to be, trust me! ;) :) It's a very romantic & intimate place to be! Come to Vast! You wont regret it!

I've been to lunch there about 5 times. I always get the buffet, ahem "daily table" or whatever fancy term they call it. The food is always top notch and the service is superb. It's a tad pricey but you know that going in. It's well worth it for the occasional splurge. Oh yeah, the view is pretty good too, hah. I'm looking forward to seeing the view at night one of these days.

Lunch was not impressive and service was incredibly slow. Luckily we were not in a hurry. One member of our party tried the buffet and found it tasty but rather semi warm. The fish ala carte items were disappointing. Fish dishes were all over cooked. They were lovely to look at and sauces were quite good, but also on cool side. The burger seemed to pass muster. Maybe beef is the specialty. Best part of meal was the black bean hummus appetizer and prosecco. Server was polite but ice tea glasses often ran dry. I think IF we return, we will come for drinks and appetizers only because the view is fabulous.

Most of the other comments have hit the main points of Vast; it is expensive, for what you get; the view is amazing; and service is stiff. My real complaint though was that there was no vision or execution. Starting with cocktails, it was like, how many ingredients can we cram into this glass and in the end you aren't left with something well balanced for all that effort, just a mess. Dinner followed a similar vein. The steaks were good, although what was tantamount to an ice cream scoop of truffle butter could make even Paula Dean say uncle. The pheasant was dry and unimaginative, and came out cold which made it worse. The vegetable en papiliote was a complete pass (I know the kitchen has spices and if not they can borrow them from the bar). After all that, however, I still think Vast is a good stop in OKC. The view really is spectacular and if you can get over the dog and pony show that passes off as service you can have a great round of drinks.

Me and my wife went here today. The food and service were good. Wouldn't say great by any means. Way better food in Okc. It's to bad because with this view, atmosphere, and ambiance this would be the premiere restaurant in all of oklahoma if they had an A list chef!

Went here with 7 other friends to have an after dinner drink and possibly dessert. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to have food or drinks because even though the place was half empty it seems Vast is a place that like to make you wait to give of the impression they are better than they really are. They wouldn't even allow us to order a drink at the bar and stand. I can't speak for the food or drink but I refuse to wait in a half empty restaurant in order to give the impression they are busy when they aren't. Vast could possibly be some of the best food in OKC but I will never know because I won't go back.

We went for a birthday party. The scallops were devine. However the service was less desirable. It was obvious the staff has not been trained professionally. They served the food on the right. Asked me to move my silver ware before placing the plate down. Reached across the hostess to remove plates. As you can tell I work at a 5 star Establishment and was disappointed. With 5 star prices and 5 star views there ought to be 5 star service

This is an exceptionally innovative restaurant especially now that Chef Kurt (from the Coach House) is the Exec Chef. I noticed someone said that there are better places to get steak and that may be true. But, this isn't a steak house - it's a fine dining experience! Enjoy

I feel that one star might be too high. After having eaten at Michelin and Zagat rated and reviewed restaurants all over the world this is one of the biggest disappointments. The view is amazing...and it stops there. The lobster wasn't boiled...it was broiled...and was about the consistency of rubber. The medium well steak was cold inside and still had blood dripping...bright red inside. The server even apologized for the food saying that several tables had complained. Save your money and go to Flint. It's cheaper and more enjoyable to buy a microwave meal and look at a picture of downtown OKC than it is to actually have to eat their food at Vast...and then receive their massive bill for that mess.

You don't go to Vast for the food you go there for the experience and the view. If you live in OKC it is worth going once but after that it's not necessary. Let me explain. OKC is not a big city, this isn't a secret. Therefore the view from this 50 story building is cool but not breathtaking. Being from Chicago I may be biased but the view is just OK. There are hardly any buildings downtown anyways so what you see in the distance is flat land, not very interesting. The atmosphere is good. Low lighting and a modern feel is very welcoming and warm. The bar is fun to sit and have a drink before your dinner. The staff is wonderful and is the reason I gave it three stars. They are attentive, friendly and well trained. This type of service is expected in a restaurant like this. Our waiter was great but our food was just ok. We had a table right next to the window and as much fun as it was to have the experience, it was not worth the money. If you want to go to see the "view" go at night and sit at the bar, you don't need a reservation and will save yourself money on food that isn't all that wonderful.

If there was a 4.5 rating - that's what I would give. Had dinner there tonite - service was amazing. The food was excellent...for appetizers, the shrimp, fried green tomatoes, tofu...entrees - scallops were amazing...and we shared the bananas foster for dessert. Everything (including the delightful breads) was delicious. The view - was beautiful too. Price wise, it is high end...so you need to be prepared for that. Would definitely recommend for special occasions for sure.

Well, I have to wonder what restaurant I went to vs the recent posts. I visited the restaurant for Lunch on May 3rd. The place was pretty busy. We did not have a reservation but they quickly accommodated us. The table they gave us at first did not have a great view and the waiter said a table just opened up next to the window and moved us without us even asking. He did not have to do so, he cared. The salmon was great. The potatoes with asiago cheese and leeks was very flavorful. The lunch buffet was also very good. The swordfish was not overdone, the roast beef was tender, sauces very well prepared, salads fresh, freshly baked breads with a lot of options. Oh, and the dessert choices were ample and very tasty. Fresh coconut macaroons with dark chocolate chips. Dip them in a little fruit sauce and wahoo. Now, the service. I have seen complaints but they were very attentive. And not just our waiter. The waiter working on the tables next to us was doing very well. Our waiter, Bradley was there to help every step of the way. Our lunch experience was great. People, let's talk value. Our lunch was very extremely reasonably priced. And they validated! If I take into account parking costs this lunch was a steal. Add the view and friendly service. I cannot speak of the dinner experience, but as for lunch. Why you would not take a client here for lunch or someone special escapes me.

First, as we had asked for a window seating, we got that and I've gotta say, it was beauutifull view. You can see the whole city and beyond from this place (mostly because OK is FLAT! LOL) Second, their food. I would say, i've had better. They do not have good vegeterian options. They have some steamed vegetables and that's it. I wish they had other options. Perhaps, Italian options, like pastas or even pizza for that matter. My friend ordered pork and he loved it. He said that it was the best pork he has ever had. They also brought breads and other items while we were waiting for our food. The breads were delicious. Third, their dessert. I ordered Chocolate Mousse Cake and It SUCKED! If you've ever had chocolate mousse cake, you will hate it from here. They could do better. MUCH BETTER. Perhaps they need to learn from La Baguette Bistro how to make Chocolate Mousse Cake. Or even better, order it from them. The only reason why this place gets four stars is because of the view and their service. Not their food. If you are going here for their food, than I would not pay so much to eat here. I would come here, get a few drinks, get a couple of apetizers and enjoy the view. I would not pay so much to get their food, especailly for vegetarians at least. Instead would go to other place and eat and then come here. Thank you.

I was hoping this place would blow my mind but it didn't. There was too much hype with reserving months in advance. In my opinion, you're definitely paying for the view. We started out with the Lobster Ravioli, which the dough was perfectly cooked, the lobster moist , and the sauce was delicious. I was not able to grab the uni flavor though. It never popped for me. For my entree I the braised short ribs. The meat was great in texture and moisture but again, the braising sauce didn't wow me. I was hoping for a burst of fireworks but the only fireworks I saw were in the far distance of the softball fields. The highlight of the night though was a spoon of sorbet that came out to help cleanse our palate. I forgot what this was but it was amazing. Overall, the place is a great addition to OKC and I'm glad it's here to help build the Oklahoma food scene. I will no doubt return for hopefully a better experience.

Just went up there with friends. Its a good place, but if you like different varieties on your menu its not the place for you. It is good for a date since there servers are professional, the view at night is spectacular and the food is good, the best lamb chops I had so far. Its a bit pricey but good to try at least once. You can throw on a nice pair of jeans and wear a good shirt since many people there dress up for dinner.

Lady Downstairs at Front = DELIGHTFUL. Lady at Front Desk = CHARMING. Views = STUNNING. Food = GREAT and bread was INCREDIBLE. Servers and Staff = NOT A SMILE. Actually depressing. Every moment we were in a good mood we were interrupted by a server whose depressed countenance squelched the joy in our conversation. This clearly wasn't just our table but most of the staff around the whole place. I have the honor of eating at some of the most fine dining restaurants in America and never have I seen such depressed workers. We even asked them if they were happy and they said yes. Clearly management needs to understand that "SERVICE WITH A SMILE" works even at high end dining (or high altitude dining for that matter) if they desire to stay in business beyond a couple years. Thank you for being my first YELP Review ever.

So I've been three times and these are my experiences: 1. Went after a Thunder game, just for cocktails with a girlfriend. It was pretty bad. The body count of employees to customers was about equal, yet we waited over 40 minutes for two drinks. And there was some sloppiness with the bill. New restaurant, try again. 2. Second time went in early January for lunch with a girlfriend. Server very nice and attentive, and encouraged us to try their daily buffet - which was totally fine. Not memorable and special, but a great price for the amount and quality of food. So it's just fine. 3. Full disclosure: I know enough of the people that work at Vast that I reached out to one of them to give me a hand getting in before a Thunder game. I don't like doing that, but I didn't want to blindly come in again because the other experience was so dreadful. And because all the check-in levels for the restaurant are kinda silly to me. I'm sure in time they will do away with the downstairs person, who has yet to be up to date on the actual reservations they have upstairs. This friend made sure we had a great table and great service, so of course, we had a great time. Based on the spectacular location and incredibly beautiful interior, I'm thinking Vast isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I'm looking forward to seeing if they will step up by being serious contributors to the non-profit community, I hope they get a bit more adventurous with their menu, and that their cocktails continue to flourish. And it's nice to know people. So go in, make a friend who can help you next time, and hope for the best.

I was so excited to try this place, I mean eating on the 49th floor, how cool is that. So I had lunch there for my birthday and I was like a little kid in a candy store, couldn't stop smiling. My friend and I decided to try the Daily table (for $20 per person), which is like a buffet and everyday the menu changes. I wished they can announce the menu for it the day before so we can know what to expect, so I was in for a surprise. After my experience I guess I had bad luck or something because the selection that day were horrible, the flavor was just off, even the soup wasn't great. Also, it was kinda awkward carrying the plate across the restaurant b/c if you want the Daily Table, the room for it, is across the restaurant, I don't think there were even table near the room. The waiters looking at you and then the chef and servers in the room of the Daily Table watching you, it was uncomfortable to get the food. On their Facebook page, the desserts selection from the Daily table looks awesome, but in reality the only thing I loved was the creme brulee. If the Daily table was that bad then I don't know if I want to spend around $40 for dinner there, even if the view might be great at night.

We finally had a chance to get to Vast for dinner ... we walked in with wide eyes and high hopes and we walked out hungry, broke and disillusioned. This really is not the place to go if you want to enjoy a good meal. And from reading other reviews it does not look like they care what their previous patrons have to say enough to make any changes at all, since our experience seem to be reminiscent of others that have left reviews before us. We had a reservation at 9:15 and although the restaurant was dead, we had to wait 10 minutes for our table. Apparently this is something they do just to try and make you feel like there is something special about the place, either that or so the cocktail waitress can make some money off the $12 martinis and $8 beer. Once we had been at our table for at least 15 minutes, some man, whose sole job is to walk around handing out bread to patrons which I found a bit pretentious and creepy to be honest, came around with a basket of bread and gave us each a brioche roll filled with jalapeño cream cheese and a regular roll filled with some sort of olive tapenade. Right then I knew we had made a mistake. If a restaurant has to to try and overdo bread, what is that going to mean for the rest of the meal. The worst part of it is that the bread was terrible, but on a good note, if you are trying to count your carbs, this is the perfect place for you because you won't have more than one bite of it. Next came the chef's amuse bouche, and if I thought we were in trouble with the bread, I knew we only had seconds to escape the disaster that would be our meals. The chef actually had the audacity to serve us a cracker with blue cheese dressing for the bite intended to tease our pallets and prime us for the next coarse. A CRACKER!!! Really? I truly hope that they had run out of the real amuse bouche earlier in the evening, but the chef refused to let us go through something other than the same dining experience anyone else would have received, so he went to the pantry only to find he had absolutely nothing else in the kitchen to serve us other than that one stale cracker with blue cheese dressing. So after several minutes of weighted comparison and intense risk assessment, he concluded that the cracker was better than nothing and served it hoping that maybe we were people who didn't know what an amuse bouche was or should be ... and he had a 50% chance of being right, given our age range, but unfortunately he served it to two people who would be hard pressed to find anything more important to their day then the meals they eat ... so it was an epic fail! And even though this told us to run and to never look back, unfortunately, just like all stubborn 14 year old girls who refuse to listen to their mothers because they have the world figured out and know how to take care of themselves, we didn't listen to our gut and get the hell out, we ventured on and we were trapped, held hostage by this horrible restaurant and forced to preform the unsightly task of eating our unbelievably boring dinners while telling the waitress how great the food was ... (we are too polite for our own good and to quote my boyfriend when I asked if we shouldn't just be honest "they leave quicker if you just tell them everything is great!") We started out with the lobster ravioli, and when it showed up on the plate as one continuous ravioli with deep fried lobster claws on top, I was convinced that we had to be in some underground, sado-masochistic torture dungeon for the food appreciator. If your chef doesn't know that deep frying a beautiful lobster claw in the batter they fry the chicken and fish with at Long John Silver's is a terrible idea and destroys the delicate perfection that is lobster, maybe you should move on to another chef, maybe one that a least knows the foundations of cooking. Next came the salad, and at this point in the meal, it was quite a nice surprise that the salad was actually good. There really is no point to even specifying which two salads we had as this would be the only part of the meal worth eating and I am sure any salad on the menu will be satisfactory. And it is just the salad! Is this really what people want to focus their entire meal around? Or use as the justification for a decision to try a restaurant, because they made a good dinner salad? I don't think so! Finally our meals, and the only thing I can say about those is they had the air of something I would have eaten at a catered lunch trying to be fancy, but not quite hitting the mark. My plate was sad with a greyish-colored filet on top of undercooked, flavorless, cubed beets and 4 stalks of asparagus. And the sea bass was on top of succotash that looked a little like baby vomit. But I guess they can be satisfied knowing the dinner did leave an impression! It just wasn't a good one! My final verdict ... not worth it!

This place is over priced for what you get. There are many restaurants in the OKC area with better food at a lower price. It seems Vast is counting on the high altitude atmosphere to blow people away, but that can only go so far. The food has to be the focus of any good restaurant, and at Vast that focus is simply lacking. Went on a Wed. night a few months ago and it was absolutely dead. Only a few other diners in the whole restaurant. It was so quiet and empty that it made it awkward to talk amongst ourselves. Really killed the mood on what should've been a festive night. Won't be back unless prices come down and food quality goes up.

I was very disappointed the reviews I read before heading to VAST tonight. My husband and I are big time foodies and have tried many upscale restaurants in the OKC area. Our first encounter was when we first arrived and were greeted by the Valet. Very professional and friendly, they also explained to us how to get in and were we need to go to get to the restaurant. You will be greeted by two hostesses, first before the elevator and then right as you come up and out of the elevator. When we were seated our waiter came right out with a smile and friendly attitude. Many times you are greeted by uptight people but that was never the case. Our server was Ricky. He was an absolute delight and made our anniversary celebration full of fun and laughter. He made many recommendations that were right on point! From the wine list to the appetizers to the entrees! Because it was our anniversary he surprised us with a delicious cake and even delivered it with a cute little rhyme. He took pictures for us, talked with us and never made it seem as if he was annoyed or we were asking for too much! I'm not really sure who the other reviewers have been served by but our experience was magnificent, from start to end. Prices are comparable to higher end restaurants. Food taste, presentation, and amount also comparable to higher end restaurants. Service above average. We will definitely be going back.

Lunch here completely charms me with light jazz music, wonderful service and the daily table special buffet. Fantastic Okc view. Lots of values for lunch. Perfect spot for business lunch appointment. I think I prefer lunch over dinner here. Parking is a little challenge in the day. But at night, they have valet service.

Was taken here for my bday and really wanted to like the food but sadly the best part of the meal was their variety breads. The soup was salty and the braised lamp was bland. I felt as if the restaurant was trying to be fine dining but didn't have the substance to back it up. Was looking forward to a nice restaurant in OKC. The extra star is for the view.

I was pleasantly surprised. Went for the view will go back for the food and atmosphere! Portions were right, food was fresh, service was excellent! They even had a premium NA beer on the menu! Go after dark!

Had drinks with friends after the Thunder season home opener. Beautiful bar, sleek, modern. Enough will be said about the view, so I won't go into that. It felt like a Manhattan rooftop bar. I was really, really impressed by the atmosphere. Can't speak to the food, but I will certainly be back, at least for another cocktail. Try the Pimm's Cup.

So pleasantly surprised! Reviews I'd read talked about the food being mediocre, but we did not find that to be the case at all. The food was very flavorful--and beautiful presentations--which was complemented by the outstanding service. Our waiter sounded confidently familiar with all food and wine choices. Parking and making your way up to the restaurant is not for the faint at heart. You either schlepp into the garage or pay $10 for valet, which we happily "forked" over. This experience is truly like nothing else Oklahoma City has to offer. Savor it!

I just had drinks at Vast but I'm writing a review because you might find useful things. Make reservations in advance if you want to eat there on a Friday afternoon or anytime Saturday (closed on Sundays) (For reservations their suggestion was 3 to 4 weeks in advance -really?-) We wanted a sunset dinner next weekend but all they had available was before 5:00 pm or after 9:30 p.m. so we decided not to wait and showed up on last Monday late at night (probably after 10) only to check if the place was worth the wait and also to enjoy the full moon view with a drink. The place is quite shishi poopoo and they have a dress etiquette that made us laugh but seems to be quite a serious deal. My Cachaça drink was a bit imbalanced but the mixologist told me everything was measured accordingly (maybe it wasn't a smart decision of my part to ask for something under a name that in many countries refers to a beverage with up to 60 % v/v). Partner had a domestic $9 beer. Funny thing I was thirsty for something that was not in the menu. Anyways, the menu looks interesting, I just don't know if it's worth the 3-week wait for dinner. Maybe I'll go there for lunch (prices are cheaper too) or on a Tuesday night, when fewer people are around. That's it for now. Food update: Had a vast dinner early this week. Our dinner was ok. To be honest there was nothing extraordinary except for maybe 2 or 3 items from our dessert (the tiny apple tart and the chocolate macaroon were great). Started our meal with two salads: the red oak (I'm bias here, red oak is my favorite green) and butter lettuce with smoked tomatoes and the watercress, pear, roasted beet salad. Salads were tasty but boyfriend felt they had too much dressing. Beets were delicious For a brief moment, I thought about ordering the Porcini dusted filet mignon but quickly changed my mind after I realized it came with foie gras butter whip. (Bias again, after visiting goose farms in Europe I promised myself I would never eat such cruelty loaded food again) The day special was steak with poblano peppers and something else I can't remember, both all my neighbors had it at their tables, and seemed to be enjoying it but it was a very big meal for me, so I opted for something lighter and ordered the PEI bay scallops and mussels and a glass of wine. Nothing outstanding. Vegetarian partner didn't have many options and picked the menagerie. Even the curry didn't save this plate, it was flat and boring, the crusted portabella piece was depressing. Petite desserts wrapped our meal, the presentation was cute and charming and three of the four bites were amazing, the cheesecake was somewhat strange. Our bill (with drinks and tip) came around $150. Was it worth it? No. The view was fun, the restaurant was packed, the service was great and overall it was a fun night out but there was nothing flavor-memorable in our meal to compensate the price tag.

Con - a high-end restaurant should serve a high-end drink. Shouldn't have to order a double to get a good drink! Pro - although not perfect yet, they are attempting to make your experience a good one & we enjoyed the food, view & atmosphere. The red oak salad dressing is a bit weak, but presentation of it & everything else was divine.

Great views. The service felt like I was being trolled it was so bad. We played "see who can make the server smile the most." The good news is, we all won... at 0 times.

My fiancée and I ate here for the first time on Saturday. Like everyone else, we REALLY wanted to hate it. And, like everyone else, our hatred simply wasn't meant to be. There were a couple of hiccups, but for the most part Vast is everything it claims to be: stunning views and fine cuisine. We booked our reservation several months ago to ensure we'd have it locked down for the post V-Day weekend. When I spoke with them, I specifically asked for a seat with a view. However, when we were seated it was in a booth that was as far away from a window as you can be in a circular room. Almost comically so. I (very nicely) brought it to our hostess's attention that I had made our reservations in OCTOBER and had requested a window seat at the time. She was very apologetic and got her manager. I then explained the situation to the manager who told us they could accommodate us, but we might have to wait 30 minutes to an hour. This was fine, since we thought our reservation wasn't for another 30 minutes anyway. We waited at the bar and only had time to order one drink (not even pound it) before the bartender told us our table was ready. I'd just like to point out, that while our original table was the Vast equivalent of being seated by the bathroom at Chili's, our final table was phenomenal! We were treated to an amuse-bouche (complimentary mini appetizer from the chef) of crab. This was the second (and final) hiccup in our evening. To me, it was just "meh". It basically tasted like someone served us canned tuna with a dash of Louisiana hot sauce. But, redemption thy name is "quail"! Our actual appetizer could not have been better. I've had quail many times in many different ways and never has it tasted so incredible! Plan on getting about 1 1/2 breasts a piece if there are two of you. For our entrees, I had the special (lobster and prawns with carrots and turnips) and my fiancée had the porcini dusted filet. We totally went the tacky route and tried a couple of bites of each other's, so I can say with confidence that both were top notch. For dessert, we had the banana fried pie, which is basically their version of bananas foster. It was very rich and delicious and because the portion sizes for the entrees are appropriate, you actually have room for it in the end. I would recommend to the casual diner that you creep the menu before you go and Google any words you don't recognize. Better to look ignorant of fancy cuisine to your internet provider than to your waiter/waitress, I suppose. All-in-all, we really enjoyed our first trip to Vast. We'll be back...when we can afford it...in three years.

Vast has an amazing view. It is amazing to look out over the metro area at night and pick out different spots. The view is worth the trip, alone. The food is pretty damn good, too. They have high quality servers who know the menu well and can make recommendations that will suit what you are looking for. It is pretty darn expensive, but that is to be expected for what you are getting. Ask for the dollar menu, they don't laugh.

Massively overpriced with snooty, arrogant, and poor service. Never again. I have better ways to spend $500. It's trying so hard to be something it's not - a hipster, uppity, foodie paradise. They should concentrate more on improving their menu, vastly improve their presentation, and actually hire people who like customers. I'll give this place 18 months max under the current management / ownership combo.

I was really hoping I wouldn't like VAST so that I would never have to go back, unfortunately, I loved it. Fail. It looks like if you want dinner reservations on any given weekend at a decent time, you'll have to make the reservations well in advance, probably at least a month at this rate. Lunch and weeknight reservations seem much more easily attainable. Don't quote me on this, but I don't think you'd need reservations to visit the lounge area for a few drinks - and boy do they have some good ones. We tried both the tropical sizzle as well as the tequila serum, both were divine. The tropical sizzle is exactly as it sounds: vodka, mango, and sweet passion fruit muddled with fresh jalapeno for the slight sizzle, really the perfect balance of smooth, sweet and spicy. The tequila serum is like a gourmet skinny margarita that you want to drink all day, urry-day (but then you'd be labeled as an alcoholic, likely lose your job, and wouldn't be able to afford VAST... so please, practice restraint here). No sugary margarita mix here, just fresh lime juice and agave nectar to accompany the silver tequila and refreshing cucumber - oh and don't forget our good friend, the fresh jalapeno, for some sizzle. Not to be outdone by the drinks, the food is just as impressive. We got a complimentary bite of curried crab to start the meal. It was very light, and savory, but not overpowering - plus it's literally just a bite to leave you wanting more. The breads were fantastic as well, all made in-house. I believe one was a Mediterranean bread stuffed with a kalamata olive mixture and the other was stuffed with cheese and jalapeno (this would probably be a better option in terms of something to eat all day, urry-day if you absolutely had to, without the guilt of being labeled an alcoholic, losing your job, etc. etc.). We also tried the ahi tuna carpaccio, which was very light and refreshing. The pickled hearts of palm provided a perfect balance to the appetizer, plus it was beautiful to look at. For our entrees we had the chipotle agave glazed salmon and the lobster boursin diver scallops. If you're like me, you're slightly confused by the phrase "lobster boursin diver scallops". Is it lobster? Is it cheese? Or is it scallops? YES. Think perfectly seared scallops stuffed with a blend of boursin cheese and lobster, oh my. The scallops absolutely melt and are served over a carrot puree that adds just a hint of sweetness. The salmon was served over a mushroom sweet corn risotto, and I have to say, the risotto was the star of the show for me. The salmon was good, but the risotto was phenomenal - perfectly creamy with a slight savory hint from the mushrooms. I didn't think the restaurant setting was conducive to plate-licking, but if it had been anywhere else... no guarantees. Unfortunately, we were too full to try out any desserts. Despite what you might envision at typical upscale dining establishments, the portions at VAST are, well... rather vast (you knew it was coming eventually). I'd love to tell you how beautiful the view from the 49th floor is, but, apparently when we made the reservations 2 months in advance, we forgot to check the weather forecast... extremely foggy with a heavy chance of more fog! I'm telling you, we couldn't see more than a foot outside the window, it was more like a mirror than a window at that point. But that didn't bother us, the food and drinks were amazing, the service was great, and the atmosphere is lovely. So yeah, probably a good thing that we can only get reservations once every other month or so, otherwise... yikes. Overall Grade: A

Stunning Cosmopolitan Dining! After walking through the massive, sparkling lobby and exiting out of the quick elevator ride, I stepped into the lobby of the Vast restaurant and felt transported; the dimmed lights, dark woods and floor-to-ceiling glass windows all adding to the elegance of the restaurant. Sitting high above the downtown streets, on the 49th floor of the Devon Tower, I was greeted with a warm smile by Felicia who took my coat and walked me to an amazing corner table that offered a 180 degree view of Oklahoma City. And when I realized I had I was missing my phone, she was so gracious to retrieve my phone from my jacket pocket for me! Alice, our server, came quickly and introduced us with the concept of the restaurant. She was well-versed on all the characteristics of the menu. For drinks, I was in the mood to celebrate so I got the Vast Champagne Cocktail and my date got the Pimm's Cup. They were so delectable and refreshing that they were way too easy to drink very quickly! We started with the Seared Ahi Carpaccio and the Main Lobster Ravioli. The great mix of flavors, the roasted pickle hearts of palm with the perfectly pink ahi, and the vanilla with the beer battered lobster claws, complimented each other perfectly. Alice also brought us some of the restaurant's breads which were not your average boring bread basket type; both delicious and savory, one was blue cheese, jalapeno and the other one was Mediterranean with sun-dried tomatoes. For the main course, I decided to go with the Lobster Boursin Diver Scallops and he decided to go with the Roasted Dourade Royale. The scallops came with a oven roasted carrot cardamom sauce and a passion fruit beurre blanc sauce so I could switch back and forth between the two different flavors. Both worked so well with the sweet meat of the lobster stuffed scallops! But I couldn't resist and had to try a few bites of the Roasted Dourade Royale which was so delicious with its crispy skin and the moist fish meat in the warm escabeche vinaigrette. We both chose well! To wrap things up, for dessert, we ordered the Glaze which as a prefect light dessert that wasn't too sweet with fruit and a bit of chocolate. I would love to keep this Oklahoma City gem to myself, but its already evident that the word has started to get out about Vast as it seems to be the hottest reservation in town!!

Vast is the best restuarant in OKC. Not only is the food and service superb, the atmosphere is eloquent and beautiful. The food is superb, beautifully presented and delicious. The service personnel make you feel like you are the most important person there and are attentive and very professional. From the appetizers to the main dishes to the deserts - absolutely wonderful. This restaurant is a great asset to OKC. If you have a special someone or a special occassion to celebrate or just want a special delicious, eloquent meal, this is the place!

April 20 Saturday around. 5:30pm. We ordered the Scallops dish and ribeye , when the food was served we noticed the dishes had sat under the heat lamps for too long, the surface of the meat, vegetables and sauces were dry

Vast Open Table - We recently experienced this "buffet" and it was gorgeous to look at but the overall taste was bland and the food had a disconnect in composition; roast garlic turkey with Italian pasta??? The turkey was overcooked and all hot entrees were cold by the time we returned to our table. We were okay with the cost; it's about the view, not the food.

Hmmmm, well for us a mixed bag. First the good which is probably obvious, but the views and the atmosphere are outstanding. A big WOW and just a fun place to walk into. Likewise the service was good and everyone who we met was very friendly and welcoming. However, the food was just average and really not average at these prices. So many places in OKC would rank higher on the food list for me - Mahogany, The Ranch, Red Prime, etc. Don't get me wrong - it was not bad, just not the kind of outstanding dining you might expect. My only other comment are the little things are not really taken care of. Our table appeared cheat with chips on the top and simple and worn placemats. The dinnerware looked like it came from Target and there was nothing on the table but a too-small candle. Now, in reality the only thing to look at anyway is the view. Will I go again? Yes probably so. And for sure will head up to the bar sometime to try to get a seat by the window and have a drink. But don't go for the best dining in OKC. Its not even in that conversation.

While I would not recommend Vast for an everyday experience, reserved for a special occasion it ranks high on my list of new faves. It is quite pricey...a mere $150 for two, not including alcoholic beverages of any kind. The atmosphere is nice...businesslike...but very simple...not detracting in anyway from the outside view. Seated at the window on the top floor (49th) of the Devon Tower, the view is spectacular. Just below lies BrickTown, the Riverwalk and more. The Wait Staff is outstanding..going above and beyond to meet our every whim...highly informed of that which they would be serving. The food was amazing...familiar items prepared and served in an unfamiliar way with the intent to delight the tastebuds into heavenly song. The courses were served in timely fashion...not delayed and not rushing us from one to the next. I believe one is able to visit the restaurant for cocktails only..choosing from a long list of beer and wine....and relax in one of the large leather sofas...something I may try next time.

Most pretentious restaurant in OKC! Had reservation for 4 this evening. Made it thru the first "check point", which is how you get to the elevator to go to the restaurant. Upon checking in, I was told we would not be able to eat there because of the shoes I was wearing. I had on black patent leather slides, which they considered to be flip flops. The manager said flip flops were not allowed. According to their website, they request that open toed shoes not be worn. Come on ladies, are you really going to wear a closed toed shoe in the summer so you can eat at Vast? I was dressed appropriately, I had on white capri and a nice top. The young lady in front of me had on leather thongs with a strap behind the heal. The lady who came in behind me was also wearing sandals. The real kicker was when we were going back thru the first "check point" and the young lady said, "I called the manager to tell him you had on flip flops"! Needless to say, we left and went to Cattlemen's and had a great steak. Bottom line, don't waste your time!

The worse case of food poisioning EVER! Avoid this place the food is for show. No taste, cold, and no seasoning! The view is impressive which warrants the one star. But the place smells like a swimming pool in the entry lobby! What a colossal mistake

Vast is highly disappointing. My husband surprised me with reservations to this restaurant on 7/19. We showed up and told them the name on the reservation. The hostess said she had to have the manager come down to do a dress code check because I was wearing black dress shorts. They are very nice, dressy shorts and it is, after all, in the middle of summer. I was very embarrassed, not realizing I might be violating a dress code, but she explained to me as we were waiting that they make exceptions. The manager came down and very unprofessionally denied us our reservation. He told me that "people dress up to come here and they don't want to look at someone who is not dressed up." Wow. First off, this was our 3rd anniversary and I spent a couple hours getting dressed and changed four times to feel like I looked really nice for my husband. I can understand having a dress code, but for the manager to be so demeaning, it was unacceptable. We left with me crying and embarrassed. They make exceptions, but apparently not to anyone they judge to be 'unimportant.' Everyone I have told this to has assured me that I saved myself from a mediocre/overpriced meal with fair/poor service and a view. I will NEVER go back to see for myself. If you are looking for a classy place with great food, I would highly recommend Mahogany or Ranch Steakhouse. No one deserves to be treated this way.

Review for lounge only. This review is a bit overdue so the desserts may not be there anymore. But Vast is in a gorgeous building and has a gorgeous view! I came for the lounge for drinks and dessert only so not sure how the regular food is. Yes it's pricey, and yes they give smaller portions, but the view was worth it to me. The regular menu items didn't look too enticing for dinner, so if you want to just check out the view do drinks in the lounge (= Drinks aren't bad, but you'll spend a little more than normal and they won't be as strong. But again, I think the atmosphere makes up for it. DRINKS Tropical Sizzle (3.5 stars): If you want a fruity drink go for this. Tequila Serum (3.5 stars) DESSERT Apple Crisp (4 stars): Loved the ice cream. Very flavorful. Bananas Fosters (3 stars): Meh. I just wouldn't recommend it. ATMOSPHERE I love this building. So gorgeous I could just walk around it all day. There was a wedding going on so it took a while to get up the elevator to the restaurant since the wedding guests had to go up to. But once you're up there the view just makes up for it. If you're lucky enough to get a table at the lounge against the windows, take it! Comfortable seats and best view in there. SERVICE Our waiter was really nice and gladly checked on a couple items for us since I was with someone who has certain allergies.

Finally had dinner at Vast and I've got to drop them not 1 but 2 stars. I arrived slightly late for a reservation Friday evening. I was seated immediately. As many Yelpers note, there's some great views to be had in Vast. I checked out the lights and the sprawl as I persued the wine list. Vast has a solid list, it's got several bottles of each varietal, several regions, and it's reasonably priced given its location. It's way more than you'll pay at a liquor store, but given that you are 50 stories up at an upscale restaurant, I didn't think the prices were outrageous. My server, Amber, was fantastic. She was around frequently to decant wine or see if I needed anything, but she wasn't hovering. I couldn't have been more happy with my server, and I'll ask for her in the future. The food, however, was hit and miss. I was given an amuse bouche of pineapple, pear, and watermelon in white balsamic vinegar with mint. This was a very refreshing bite (or 2) and a dish I may steal for my own home. I really liked it, I would order it in a full dish form if they had it on the menu. I decided to start with the roasted red pepper gnocchi and I was blown away. You get around 6 gnocchi, maybe a bit more. They are served with pea tendrils, creamed leeks, and a very generous sprinkling of feta cheese. This dish was fantastic, the gnocchi is pillowy soft, but has a slight crispness on the exterior to give it some texture. The sauce was peppery, creamy, and complemented the red pepper flavor (which is strong, but not overpowering) very well. I seriously debated ordering 2 more servings of this for my meal and calling it a night. It's a must order if you like pepper, pasta, good sauces, or food in general. Very well crafted dish. I next went with the Caesar salad, which was not a big hit with me. The croutons didn't have any body to them, it's like they looked toasted but weren't. Additionally, the dressing was too lemony for me. The salad is well dressed and comes with tapenade crustinis. And, it's a good sized serving of salad. But, the dressing and croutons didn't work for me, so I wouldn't order this again. I next went with the No Name Ranch ribeye for $58. Dry aged 35+ days according to the menu, this steak is served with fingerling potatoes, asparagus, and a small vegetable medley. I elected to add 3 grilled shrimp as well. What they don't tell you on the menu is that it is served covered in sauce. Now, I didn't hate the sauce. It was a basic red wine type sauce. But, had I known it came with sauce, I would have had them put it on the side so I could just taste the meat and dip into sauce at my leisure. The entire steak was covered. And, a No Name steak that's been dry aged over a month should not need sauce. In addition to the sauce, my first steak was overcooked beyond the ordered medium rare. As soon as I cut into it my server commented that it was over temperature. So, she took it back. I waited approximately 15 minutes and was brought another steak. She asked that I cut into it, and when I did it was rare. So, second steak is gone. Another 10 or so minutes later and a manager returns with my third steak. This one they got right. The manager was very apologetic, she comped my 2 appetizers and gave me a dessert. So, they made it right and were very professional about the whole thing. But, the damage was done as far as the timing of the evening. I ate around half or so of the steak. It is extremely tender, it almost had the give of a filet even though it was a ribeye. I did not get the month plus dry aging, but it did have nice flavor. The sides were average. The potatoes were lightly seasoned and not cooked enough for my taste. I don't want mashed potatoes, but these had too much crunch to them. The veggie medley was small and nothing to write home about. The asparagus was prepared well. I went with the banana cheesecake and some port for dessert. They give a generous pour for port at Vast, I had a 20 year Sandeman's for around $15 as I recall. Very fair in my book. The dessert was fantastic. Large piece of cheesecake topped with bruleed bananas. The crust had a hint of peanut butter. The cake was velveety but not too dense. This cake is well worth the $9 it would have cost me. In a sense I suppose I should be glad the steak became such an issue, because I probably wouldn't have ordered dessert and this was very good. Glad I tried it. In addition, they provide you wish a small bite of chocolate chip cheesecake. As I expected, it was good, given that chocolate chips and cheesecake are both great. It tasted like you think it would, and I certainly wouldn't be opposed to eating an entire slice of it. I will return to Vast, but I am more likely to do so for lunch. Given the prices and location, I was expecting more from my evening. That said, I had very good wine, a fantastic gnocchi dish, and got some excellent service. So, it wasn't all bad.

Vast is iconic in Oklahoma City. There's no other place like it in the city in terms of the experience and view. Each time I've been, the staff and bartender have been courteous and friendly. The drinks aren't outrageous in terms of pricing, and for the view you get at the bar, nothing else in Oklahoma City compares. The bar is first come, first served, and even on weekends is usually easy to find a spot, even with a group. The quality of food, drinks, staff, and attention to detail all make Vast worthy of 5 beautiful stars.

One of the marks of a great chef is the ability to make an outstanding soup. In this, Vast failed; consequently we failed to order additional items. The ox tail soup broth not only tasted eerily similar to Campbell's alphabet, but the onion were cut so large it was practically impossible to eat. Shame on the chef! One does not cut items larger than the vessel from which it is to be eaten. So, this evening I paid $50 for 3 drinks (including $6 of "liquor tax") and 4 bites of crap soup over a 90 minute period due to agonizingly slow service and poor organization (including being served butter but no bread). This was Vast's last chance with us. We will NEVER be suckered into spending more money at the bar, restaurant, or event space again. They just do not know how to properly prepare food or serve it appropriately. The view isn't worth the aggravation!
